Roots & Paws Sanctuary

A New Kind of Healing Sanctuary

Roots & Paws Sanctuary envisions a future where healing is rooted in nature, connection, nourishment, community, and the environments we create around us. We are building a regenerative sanctuary designed to bring together wellness, education, hospitality, rescue, and land stewardship in one deeply intentional experience.

Rather than treating wellness as a temporary escape, Roots & Paws approaches healing as a relationship - between people, animals, food systems, nature, nervous system regulation, and the land itself. Through restorative experiences, regenerative living, community connection, and immersive education, we aim to help people reconnect with the foundational things that support long-term wellbeing.

Our vision is to restore a deeper connection between people, animals, and the natural world — proving that healing does not begin with quick fixes, but through the environments, relationships, and rhythms that help us truly thrive.

What Guides Our Vision

Nature First

Every part of Roots & Paws Sanctuary begins with the land. The vision is centered around open landscapes, forests, wildflowers, fresh air, rolling hills, and spaces intentionally designed to feel connected to nature rather than separated from it.

Walking trails, wellness spaces, gathering areas, gardens, cabins, and rescue spaces are designed to work with the landscape - allowing nature itself to remain central to the experience.

Wellness Rooted In Real Life

Our philosophy blends:
- Nature and nervous system restoration
- Regenerative food and land practices
- Community and human connection
- Holistic wellness and education
- Rescue and therapeutic connection with animals
- Thoughtful, low-impact hospitality

Think: slow mornings, fresh air, wildflowers, tea on cabin porches, long-table dinners, rescue dogs resting nearby, warm saunas, cold plunges, firelight, movement, stillness, and spaces designed to help people breathe again.

Regenerative & Intentional

Our development philosophy focuses on:
- Regenerative land stewardship
- Low-impact and sustainable development
- Thoughtful wellness experiences
- Educational programming rooted in prevention and restoration
- Food systems connected to health and nourishment
- Experiences that prioritize connection over consumption

We are building intentionally - with the goal of creating something restorative, sustainable, and lasting for future generations.

What You'll Experience

A Living Regenerative Sanctuary

Roots & Paws Sanctuary is first and foremost a place designed around restoration, connection, and regenerative living.

Gardens, food forests, wildflower meadows, walking trails, wellness spaces, rescue dog areas, and gathering spaces are not simply amenities - they are part of the daily rhythm and experience of the sanctuary itself.

Guests experience a slower pace rooted in nature, nourishment, movement, learning, community, and meaningful connection.

Space, Light, & Simplicity

Buildings are intentionally designed to feel calming, grounded, and connected to the surrounding landscape.

Natural materials, warm textures, open windows, soft architecture, and nature-integrated design create spaces that support rest, reflection, nervous system restoration, and connection to the outdoors.

The experience is meant to feel peaceful, restorative, and deeply human.

Wellness Integrated Into Nature

Wellness experiences at Roots & Paws are designed to complement life on the land rather than feel separate from it.

Experiences may include:
- Outdoor saunas and cold plunges
- Yoga and movement classes
- Sound healing and nervous system workshops
- Guided nature walks
- Breathwork and restorative practices
- Wellness retreats and educational gatherings

These spaces are intentionally quiet, immersive, and integrated naturally into the landscape.

Food, Nourishment, & Regenerative Living

Food experiences at Roots & Paws Sanctuary are designed to reconnect people with nourishment, agriculture, and the relationship between food and long-term wellbeing.

The sanctuary vision includes:
- Regenerative gardens and food forests
- Farm-to-table meals and gatherings
- Cooking and wellness workshops
- Educational experiences around food systems and low-tox living
- Seasonal community dinners and harvest experiences

The goal is to help people better understand where food comes from, how it is grown, and how it impacts long-term health.

Education, Workshops, & Healing Experiences

Roots & Paws Sanctuary is designed as a place of learning, conversation, and transformation.

Future programming may include:
- Holistic health workshops
- Integrative cancer education events
- Regenerative gardening education
- Dog CPR and emergency preparedness classes
- Aircrete dome building workshops
- Nervous system and stress resilience education
- Community wellness gatherings
- Retreats focused on restoration and connection

The vision is to create educational experiences that feel practical, approachable, and deeply connected to real life.

The Dog Village

Roots & Paws Sanctuary will include a Dog Village designed for senior, disabled, and overlooked rescue dogs.

Rather than traditional shelter environments, the vision is to create peaceful spaces with sunlight, grassy yards, movement, calm environments, and meaningful human connection.

The sanctuary believes healing happens in both directions - for people and animals alike.

Roots & Paws Academy

Education, Workshops, & Healing Experiences

Education Beyond The Sanctuary

Roots & Paws Academy is the educational arm of the sanctuary - designed to make restorative, practical, and root-cause-focused wellness education more accessible to people everywhere, regardless of location.

While the physical sanctuary will offer immersive in-person experiences, the Academy allows the mission to extend far beyond the land itself through digital education, workshops, courses, memberships, and community-based learning.

Topics may include:
- Holistic and integrative wellness
- Cancer-informed wellness education
- Nervous system and stress resilience
- Low-tox and regenerative living
- Food systems and nourishment
- Regenerative gardening and sustainability
- Holistic pet health and wellness
- Rescue education and animal wellbeing
- Practical lifestyle and wellness workshops

The goal is not information overload or fear-based wellness.

It’s to help people feel more empowered, connected, informed, and capable of creating healthier environments for themselves, their families, and their animals.

Over time, Roots & Paws Academy will support:
- Online courses and workshops
- Educational memberships and community groups
- Live webinars and guest expert interviews
- Downloadable guides and resources
- Virtual wellness and educational events
- Scholarship-supported learning opportunities through Jasper Jo Co

The Academy is designed to help expand the sanctuary’s impact far beyond the physical property - creating an educational ecosystem rooted in healing, restoration, and long-term wellbeing.

The Near Future (2026-2028)

Roots & Paws Sanctuary is currently in the early planning, fundraising, and land acquisition phase.

The initial focus is on securing 100+ acres of peaceful, nature-connected land and beginning development of the foundational infrastructure needed to bring the sanctuary to life.

Early phases may include:
• Land acquisition and regenerative land preparation
• Initial gathering and wellness spaces
• Early glamping and eco-stay experiences
• Gardens and food systems
• Community events and educational programming
• Initial Dog Village development
• Infrastructure supporting long-term sustainability and growth

This first phase is designed to establish the foundation for the long-term sanctuary vision.

The Long-Term Vision (2027-2035)

The long-term vision for Roots & Paws Sanctuary is to become a fully integrated regenerative wellness sanctuary rooted in healing, education, rescue, hospitality, and land stewardship.

Over time, the sanctuary will continue expanding its:
- Wellness and educational programming
- Regenerative food systems and gardens
- Retreat and hospitality experiences
- Community partnerships and events
- Rescue initiatives and Dog Village
- Integrative health and cancer education experiences
- Land restoration and sustainability efforts

Long-term success will not be measured by scale alone, but by the sanctuary’s ability to create meaningful impact, restorative experiences, healthy ecosystems, strong community relationships, and lasting transformation for both people and animals.
